“We met Carey Dodson through our contractor, and will forever be grateful that she was the architect for the rebuild of our home.

When we bought our home over twenty years ago, we primarily chose it for the land, knowing that one day we'd like to remodel and make the property more of the focal point.  Our original plan with Carey involved some updating, opening up our choppy floor plan, and bringing the outdoors 'in'. However, when a severe winter storm caused multiple pipes to burst and flood our home, our plans changed.  The full extent of the damage was discovered bit by bit, week after week, until what began as a moderate remodel became an unplanned total home rebuild. Carey brought calm to a messy situation; managing the ever-changing scope with confidence by adapting plans each time new damage was discovered, and guiding us through endless decisions that needed to be made quickly. Throughout the rebuild process, as we were faced with insurance hold-ups and shipping delays, Carey managed each hurdle and kept her focus on designing a beautiful home, and seeing the rebuild through to completion.  

Beyond her ability to nimbly manage a unique rebuild situation, what we loved most about working with Carey was her design vision and connection to our project.  She has a special ability to really 'see' what works in each space, from large-scale design, to the smallest detail. We appreciated how she really listened to us; she wanted to know how we lived day to day, what was on our dream list of features, and how we wanted the home to function. Knowing we wanted to center the new design of our home around the property, she achieved that with an open floor plan, additional outdoor living spaces, and carefully placed windows throughout the house to capture views from every room. Carey also specializes in creating important stand-out features, like a third floor balcony with 360 views, and a stunning curved interior staircase made of steel. Every room and feature that Carey designed was maximized for beauty with the perfect scale, lighting and finish-out. 

We've been living in our home for three years now, and we love and appreciate what Carey created even more. Carey didn't just design a remodeled home for us, she created a peaceful sanctuary that we truly love being in. “
